East Lawrence has always been a politically active neighborhood and the opportunity to generate discussion and get people to ELNA meetings, making them aware of what ELNA does, is a win on its own.
There is widespread support for the project (as represented by residents, Lawrence artist project submissions, the East Ninth advisory board votes and the City Commission vote), and it is time to move forward and actually get into the nut and bolts design phase.
I am not one who gets too excited by the first snow, but I have to admit it didn’t feel like winter to me in Lawrence until we had our first snow. Here are some photos from around town that I feel like capture a slice of what the season feels like.
Last night and today, we have been setting up for tonight’s silent auction.
Big thanks to Great Harvest Bread Co. here is Lawrence for donating the bread for tonight’s meal. Over 200 Italian dinner rolls.
Also one of my wife’s friends has created some great cupcakes for dessert. Smores and Chocolate.
